 Africa Wells 5K  
    A scenic course through residential Brookings that begins and ends at the Brookings area high school. The route is marked and timed and consists of slight elevation changes, but altogether a fast enjoyable course. The 5K sponsors Wells for Africa, a charity that raises donations to fund that construction of wells in Africa, where women walk nearly 10 miles one way for a jar of water. Come and run so they don't have to walk!

 5K Run/Walk  
  A marked and timed 5K, that is mostly flat with small increases in elevation, throughout the residential area of Brookings. A scenic route that begins and ends at the Brooking High School.

The event is organized by the Pre-Professional Club of South Dakota State University as a fundraiser for The African Well Fund. AWF serves as a non-profit organization that constructs and maintains wells, bringing clean water to Africa.
